Director Zach Cregger Incorporated These Inputs From Fans Into Resident Evil: ‘I Liked the Movie a Lot More’
Resident Evil is set to release on 18th September in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film is directed by Zach Cregger and stars Austin Abrams in the lead.
Resident Evil is all set to reinvent the survival horror genre, being touted as one of the most-awaited movies this year. The franchise has continuously thrilled and terrified audiences over the years, and now the newest installment is all set to hit the big screens, with acclaimed filmmaker Zach Cregger at its helm.
While the director’s previous films, Barbarian and Weapons, struck the perfect balance between balance and comedy, early test screenings for Resident Evil showed a different result, prompting the director to make some important adjustments. He told The Hollywood Reporter, “I learned that people really liked the movie, but they thought it was too funny. So over the course of my testing, I stripped out as much of the jokes as possible. I then found that not only did the audience enjoy the movie more, but I also liked the movie a lot more. A little bit of humour goes a long way in a horror movie, and there’s not a single joke I took out of this movie that I miss.”
